Inherited Template Cache 1.0.1
Beginning with version 3.0.3, phpBB 3 has a powerful template inheritance feature that some styles use to share common template files. This allows you to avoid having duplicate files on your site, reducing the time and effort needed for maintenance of styles. You can read more about template inheritance at the phpBB Blog.
However, as a relatively new feature, template inheritance lacks strong connections to phpBB 3's caching system. Even though templates may share a file through inheritance, the caching system still creates separate cache files for each template. Inherited Template Cache allows the caching system to share a common cache file for inherited template files. This will reduce your site's disk space usage, which may save you money (depending on your web host's pricing system).
