Tired of getting hit by bots that register on your forum just to make junk spam posts? You can add another layer of protection against these fiends with Confirmation on New Posters. phpBB 3 includes a confirmation system that is integrated with posting to prevent the bots from posting as a logged out user. Confirmation on New Posters extends that system to include newly registered users as well.
Typically when a spam bot gets past the registration confirmation, they won't check for further confirmation prompts. With a new prompt added to posting, the bots won't be able to get through as easily. Of course, to avoid inconveniencing your legitimate members more than absolutely necessary, you can set the number of posts for which new members must enter visual confirmation.
