Censor Suite 2.0.0
Censor Suite is a moderation assistance tool that enhances the usefulness of phpBB's word censor and disallowed username features to reduce the workload of forum moderators and administrators. Several new features are added by Censor Suite:
- Default list of offensive terms that can be quickly added to word and disallowed username filters.
- Block terms in the word filters from ever entering your database in messages or user profiles.
- Automatic logging and moderator reports of attempts to post blocked terms.
- Detection of alternate characters often used to circumvent word filters.
- Allow innocent words through strict word blocks with a whitelist.
- Easy Administration Control Panel management of all features.
When the Blocking feature is enabled, text fields in each post, private message, and user profiles will be scanned for matches to the forum's word filters at the time of submission. If a match is found, the submitting user will be asked to alter their submission before it is saved in the database. This message will include a preview, customized in each theme's stylesheet, highlighting the triggering content. These events can also be optionally logged or reported for future review by administrators.
The included list of offensive terms includes over 200 entries. Specific terms can be selected for addition to either the word censor filters, the username filters, or both. The terms can also be easily removed from each list, providing a faster alternative to managing the filter lists than phpBB 3's own default utilities.
Censor Suite was formerly known as "Censor Block." If you have installed "Censor Block" in the past, I recommend uninstalling it prior to installing Censor Suite. Having both modifications installed will produce a duplicate "please alter your post" message. Censor Suite includes all the features of Censor Block, plus additional abilities. Censor Suite also serves as a more powerful replacement for the older "Word Censor List" modification.
