Disallow Specific HTML 1.0.0
While I personally never allow HTML to be used in posts on my own forums, I can understand the attraction of doing so. For experienced web masters that haven't used forums before, it's certainly easier than learning all the ins and outs of BBCode, which could be different on every forum a person visits. phpBB's developers understand than some people prefer HTML also, so they included support for doing so in phpBB 2.
phpBB 2 also allows administrators to define specific HTML tags that users are permitted to include in posts. But suppose you just want to exclude a few tags? It's a pain to enter all the other various tags. That's where Disallow Specific HTML becomes useful. It will alter the existing option, "Allowed HTML tags," to "HTML tags not allowed." All tags will be allowed, except those entered in the board configuration.
Features
- Allows administrators to define HTML tags that are not allowed to be used in the forums.
- All tags, except those defined, will be allowed when HTML is turned on.
- Requires only minimal changes to install.
- Preserves existing basic security measures on HTML usage.
Additional Notes
- Not compatible with phpBB 2.0.19 or earlier. For those versions, try RobM's <a href="http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/857">Disallow Specified HTML Tags</a>.
Support Development
Developing and maintaining modifications can consume a great deal of time and effort. If you find this project useful and would like to express your appreciation through a donation, that generosity would be appreciated. Any amount is helpful.
