Hi,

I am very interested in installing a sub forum hack but when I downloaded http://phpbbhacks.com/download/978 (Categories Hierarchy) I saw how complicated it was,a 3 hour installation plus having to replace my index file with a smaller one and messing up my other hacks such has (color groups ect...). I also know theres a pre hacked version of this but again alot of the files are changed so i would have to figure out how to install my other hacks. Is there a simpler hack for sub forums ?

thanks for your time

Regards

Merl

You can try Easy Sub Forums:
http://phpbbhacks.com/download/5990

Or Simple Sub Forums:
http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=336974

Both of these are much easier to install. I've used both (Simple Sub Forums is installed here) and both work very well.

hey,

thanks alot the easy sub forums one works great and is ALOT easier lol but Im having now some kind of conflic with the Search Engine Optimization mod because they both ask me to edit the same line in the index.php. now when someone is not logged it and try to read a topic they get:

Not Found

The requested URL /forums/forum-1.html was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Do you know if simple sub forums will not cause this conflic or will it have the same problem?

Thank you

yep I did Very Happy it was cause I didn't upload the htaccess to the right folder which caused SEO to get errors. Right now I'm having a different problem,I have devided my header into three different pieces I wanted to leave both my left pieces fixed and the one on the right to rotate so I downloaded the random banner hack

http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/2929

it works awesome except for a small problem that creates a gap between the right piece and left one.

I thought I might be able to maybe make it rotate myself so I got a php random image script put it on a .txt and had the include function in the banner section.it worked but cause a huge line of error on my ezPortal portal.php file. So I'm not sure what to do.

What was the error that appeared on portal.php? Maybe we can fix that.

Hm, odd. Can you save a copy of your portal.php file as a txt file, upload that, and post a link to it, please?
