Show friends on profile?

I like to show people' s friends on the profile. Both users have to add each other to their buddy list. If only one user added the other user, it won' t be displayed.

Any ideas how to do this? Would this require a lot of new code?

I know that Olympus will have a buddy list, so it won' t make much sense to add new features to contact list. But if the changes would mainly be based on existing code, I like to add this feature.
