Known Bugs

The following article describes some bugs, past and present, in Contact List that I already know about. For some of these, fixes have been provided or are in the works. Some will simply not be fixed.


Buddy/Ignore Compatiblity
Contact List is not currently compatible with most other buddy list or ignore list modifications. For some notes about possible future compatiblity, see the comments inside the class_contact.php file.


Report Post Conflict
For reasons that are currently unknown, Contact List is also not compatible with this Report Post hack. I am not aware of any problems between Contact List and other post reporting hacks.


Mozilla Firefox and Firebird
Mozilla Firebird/Firefox 0.7 has been observed as having problems closing the little popup windows used by Contact List. There were indications that the problem may have been caused by certain settings in the Tabbrowser extension. This is a very old bug and may not apply to more recent versions of Firefox/Firebird and/or Tabbrowser.

In Mozilla Firefox 1.0, activating the "Force links that open new windows to open in:" settings in the Tools > Options > Advanced menu will cause all popup windows to open in full-sized tabs. This is a browser behavior that cannot be fixed by Contact List. These Firefox options are hidden by default, so if you encounter this problem you are most likely aware of how to deal with it.


Microsoft Internet Explorer 5
Internet Explorer 5 sometimes logs the user out when a little popup window has been opened. This has not been tested on Internet Explorer 6.
