How can I determine what version of "Shop" and "Special Effects" I am running? On my install it does not show a version number at the bottom of the page.

For Effects Store, look at the top of the shop_effects.php file in a text editor. It should have something like this:
Quote: File Version: 1.2.2
This is not a perfect indicator of which version you have, but it will be close. For the Shop, look at shop.php. It will have a similar line: Quote: * Version : 3.1.0
