hacked

I've been having problems recently with a group of turkish hackers...

They come in and somehow replace the index.php file....

Is there a way to protect against it...and how did they come in?

It's impossible to say without more information. You should contact your host and check the server logs. If you're on a shared host, it's possible they have hit someone else's site in a way that allows them access to every site on the server.

Check through your directories for files or folders that look suspicious - things you didn't upload yourself. Make sure you're using the latest stable version of phpBB, so that you have no known security holes in that.

i am using the latest..upgraded as soon as they came out..

ill check with the host..and look for anything suspicious..
