Deleting sent messages

Hello

There is no option to delete sent messages???

My members are complaining that they need to delete thier sent messages....
Some members have 1000's of sent messages, when they click delete it tells them that sent messages can not be deleted and redirects them back to the main window.

I have tried deleting the members sent messages through the admin ACP but, that doesn't work?

How can l delete all sent messages? or how can the members delete all thier sent messages?

The sent messages are literally the message that was sent by the member and received by another member, not a copy of the message like you might expect. There's no option of deleting them in the current version because that would delete the other members' received messages. As other members delete their older received messages, the sent messages will also disappear.

if in case, there are to many massages those users dont know or dont want to delete from message logs.......and the admin cant delete them in the ACP. So is it possible 4 the admin to delete them from mySQL database....if yes....which one i should open --> delete ---> then back up???

The messages are stored in phpBB's private message tables, phpbb_privmsgs and phpbb_privmsgs_text.
