Hi,

I have downloaded and testing the pillar which I think it is very nice.

I am testing and I have tried to delete a user message from the "message log" and it doesn't work. It does NOT delete the marked message.

Any reason for it? is it a bug or it is me that I have done something wrong?

Thanks

Are there any error messages? If so, can you post what they say?

If not, there might be a server software conflict. I know of a few hacks that handle things like this and have had problems when used on servers that run PHP 4.3.10 and older versions of the Zend Optimizer. Upgrading the Zend Optimizer to a more recent version usually fixes it.

HI

They are not error messages. It just takes me back to the page where there are the fields to look up for a user. Nothing happens. "This is in the admin side".

I have also tried to delete my own sent messages from the user side, and I can't ... I am sure that if I sent a few messages I should be able to delete them, but it tell me:
Sorry, you cannot delete messages you have sent. :: Return to Message Log any reason for it?

I have : PHP Version = 4.1.2 (Zend: 1.1.1)

Thanks

That's normal. It's actually listing messages other users have received from you, but not deleted yet.

I'm not sure what the problem is with the admin log. I'll look into it when I have a chance.

HI

OK I understand that if I sent a message, in my "sent box" there are all the messeges that I have sent and stay there until the users delete them. That is fine; but what happends if I send 10 msgs to 5 users and they don't delete them? I haven't tried this yet, but I just wonder.

All day I have tried to send and receive IM msgs, and there is one thing I can understand:

I have received a message this afternoon, I looked at it and deleted, that is fine. There is one thing though, in the link it still show You have 1 new IM even though I don't have any message at all if I receive another, it would say You have 2 new IM. I read the one just arrived and it goes back to 1.

I have delete all the messages from the table ( privmsgs & privmsgs_text ) just in case and it is still there. any reason? where does it get the number of msg to show in the "You have 1 new IM"?

Thanks

The messages just stay there until they're purged somehow.

Somebody else reported this recently, too. There might be a coding error; I'll look into it when I check the admin log.

It's the new_ims field in the im_prefs database table.
