I don't have spam messages anymore, just spammers that register in order to get a link (the fact the website field is removed doesn't stop them from registering).
So I was wondering: is it possible to write a mod that checks the mail-address of those who register and removes the registration if the address does not exist? Would be convenient... |

For the moment, it does not work. On a real mail-address with a server that functions well I got this result:
<PASTE> Could not connect to the email server, see the FAQ page for further info :(97)- 'Address family not supported by protocol' </PASTE> On another address the script reported <PASTE>  0)Success
</PASTE> But then again, the included verify-tool reported my webserver had a problem finding the right mx-records. I will ask my provider if he can fix it... Right now, I will uninstall it because it seems to block all registrations. |
