Backup

I seem to keep having problems with server timeout errors....i can't even take a full backup.

any tool that could be used in this case?

The best way to make a backup is using phpMyAdmin or other third party software. Don't rely on phpBB's backup feature - it has been known to provide corrupt and unusable backups.

phpMyAdmin is what i've been using..but still, it wont download completely.

Try backing up a few tables at a time, instead of the whole database. It will give you more files in your backup, but each should be smaller and hopefully avoid the timeouts.

Do the search_wordlist and search_wordmatch tables seperately from the rest. Those are usually the biggest ones, so they take the longest to back up.

Ur probably sick of my problems by now...the main problem i have is with those specific tables. Any table more than 10 megs doesnt get backed up completely.

I guess it's my problem and i'd have to put up with it.
