Any requests?

Now that the first release candidate for phpBB 3 is out, I've begun looking at possible upgrades of some modifications. Right now I have a list of hacks installed on one of my phpBB 2 forums that I'm running through. I'm looking at each hack and deciding what needs to be upgraded, what's already in phpBB 3, etc.

Does anyone have any special requests for phpBB 2 modifications they would like to see updated for phpBB 3? I don't want to make any promises about converting anything right now, but I will consider any requests. Especially if it is a mod I would like to use myself.

A Shoutbox maybe?

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I saw one of those in development already, but I'll keep it in mind.

What's to come of all Zarath's mods? If he's dropped them, is it possible for you to pick them up for phpbb3?

I'm not sure what his plans are at the moment. He did say he was planning to port the Shop, but now he's dropped off the map. The last time that happened he was gone for 6 months, the time before that it was a year or two I think.

I have a few other things I'm working on right now (some commissioned work and updates to IP Search, Admin Upload, Effects Store, and maybe Contact Last). Once all that is out of the way, if we've still not heard anything from Zarath, I plan look into making a Shop for phpBB 3.

Hi Thoul... I recently added IP Search to my site and was wondering as you have a serious grasp of the module install process if I could ask you a quick question?

I have a fairly large mod (Stargate Portal) but am having trouble automatically installing the modules for it. Manual install is a little to complex for most of my members and a script can only be used if no additional modules are install (hard coded module id's)...

The structure is: Portal (main category), in turn this has four (sub?) categories... each containing several modules... I have some success with your module installer but cant get it right.. no info in relation to how the code is constructed...
